Position SummaryEnrollment Services is comprised of Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, Office of the Registrar, Office of Evaluations, Prospective Student Services, Out of State, Specialized and International Recruitment, Class Schedule, and Communications. Enrollment Services implements SDSU enrollment management policies and provides services to students from their initial point of interest in SDSU to their graduation.
The Enrollment Services Communications Office oversees all internal and external communications (publications, websites, marketing, and informational campaigns, etc.) to the campus and community regarding enrollment topics, including recruitment, admissions, advising, and registration. In addition, the ES Communications Office supports all specialized recruitment activities by implementing effective communication and marketing plans and collaboratively on all marketing materials.

Plan and manage the writing and editing of training materials, websites, emails, print, etc., to support Enrollment Services.

Plan and coordinate communication efforts to inform students, faculty, and staff on upcoming changes to deadlines, processes, or procedures managed or facilitated by Enrollment Services which are affected by PeopleSoft, my.SDSU conversion.

Coordinate the student electronic communication schedule and process for the SDSU campus when communicating with prospective, admitted, and current students via e-mails and WebPortal messages, and support the transition to PS Campus Solutions.

Assign tasks to student assistants as it relates to supporting Enrollment Services projects.

Use a customer relations management system (CRM) to manage events and communication campaigns used to support Enrollment Services.

Use a content management system (CMS) to edit and review text and media on Enrollment Services websites.

Participate in campus-wide committees related to key campus initiatives such as PS Campus Solutions.

Support other Communications area staff as needed and serve as a back-up in responding to university management's immediate communication requests.

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base) benefits-eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on or before one year from the date of hire. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
The individual hired into this role will work on-campus at SDSU in San Diego.
Education and ExperienceEntry to this classification requires knowledge of the fundamentals of public affairs and/or media relations, and/or some exposure to marketing and marketing research. This background normally is obtained through a college degree, which includes relevant coursework in the field, and up to two years of related professional or technical experience. In addition, strong written and verbal communication skills with a solid foundation in grammar, spelling, and the composition of various communication vehicles are essential to initial entry to this classification.
Specialized SkillsKnowledge of the fundamentals of public affairs and communication, and exposure to marketing and marketing research.
Preferred Qualifications -
Knowledge of San Diego State University's organizational structure, policies, and procedures.

Bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, marketing, or related field.

Minimum of two years of related professional work experience.
Compensation and BenefitsSalary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,515 - $6,358 per month.
SDSU COVID-19 Vaccine Policy In accordance with the California State University systemwide policy, students, faculty, and staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide a valid medical or religious exemption in order to access campus. An individual is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose of a two-shot vaccine or two weeks after the first dose of a single-shot vaccine.
The individual hired into this role will be required to submit their completed vaccination documentation to the university's secure online health portal prior to beginning work. Individuals with an approved medical or religious exemption on file with the university will be required to participate in SDSU's COVID-19 testing program.
