Department: Carson Ctr for Emerging Media Arts-9626
Description of Work:
Provide support to Emerging Media Arts students as it pertains to academic/course planning, degree progress and internship opportunities. Actively and proactively engage with EMA students to identify and support students' academic interests, success and make referrals to support services. Develop initiatives to aid in student retention and success efforts. Engage with the Carson Center Advisory Council and other stakeholders to develop internship opportunities and/or career placement for Carson Center students; and collaborate with Career Services staff on university and college-wide internship programs and experiential learning opportunities. Advising and retention activities will be done in coordination with the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts advising and student success offices and will follow College and University student success and retention initiatives.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience in higher education with evidence of 1:1 student interaction in advising or related areas such as student affairs. Master's degree in related field may substitute for experience.
Master's degree. Background in the arts and/or technology desirable. Academic advising experience helpful. Experience with college students. Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Interest and knowledge in the emerging media arts and related fields. Prior use of student information technology and platforms preferred.
