Job Description Summary: The Admission Processing Representative position is responsible for all applications and documents for all undergraduate and graduate programs at all campuses; ensures admission procedures comply with University policies (including making admission decisions), provides assistance regarding enrollment issues. Answers phone calls and emails. Must be fully cross-trained and able to answer questions regarding all of the Student Services areas. Identifies student needs and provides assistance with processes surrounding all aspects of educational and financial services.
Minimum Qualifications | Two years of college coursework and/or equivalent experience Knowledge of college admissions policies and procedures Skill in reviewing/evaluating transcripts Strong communication skills Ability to demonstrate sensitivity and diplomacy Ability to effectively communicate moral and written form Ability to work independently without direct supervision Excellent time management skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment A working knowledge of higher education Listening Phone skills Resolving conflict Multi-tasking Excellent problem solving and prioritizing skills Attention to detail is a must Critical thinking skills Organizational skills
Essential Duties | Provides information by answering questions and requests from internal and external constituencies Maintains rapport with constituencies by resolving problem situations Responds to all queries concerning admission requirements for all students which includes general University requirements as well as special requirements within individual academic units Retrieves documents/transcripts electronically or snail mail, sorts and prepares documents for data entry and/or imaging. Data entry of documents into student records Evaluates transcripts and determines eligibility for admission Reviews and verifies application materials, test scores, essays, and transcripts to ensure compliance with University policy Makes admission decisions on undergraduate and graduate domestic applicants, excluding St Louis Accomplishes the department mission by successfully completing the essential duties and responsibilities.
