Under limited supervision, this position provides executive administrative support for the Vice President of Equity and Inclusion as well as the Equity and Inclusion Division as assigned. This position also interacts with the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Vice President of Finance and Operations, other President's Council administrators, Deans, Directors, and Supervisors. This position supports Equity and Inclusion college-wide functions and ensures that the programs and activities are conducted in a collaborative manner with other divisions and departments on campus. Provide culturally relevant support including but, not limited to tasks related to organization and communication.
This position serves as initial contact and secondary ombudsperson for the Executive Suite, acting as receptionist as necessary and providing back-up administrative and clerical support for both the President and the Chief of Staff in the absence of the Executive Assistant to the President and Chief of Staff. They must exhibit knowledge of diversity, cultural competence, equity and inclusion and the challenges that affect students on campus. The position requires a high level organizational and human relations skills.
Customer service skills sufficient to perform responsibilities described above with courtesy, respect, and interest in positive problem solving manner. Answer the phone, refer callers, and greet visitors with courtesy and respect. Provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through e-mail and other written correspondence.
English sufficient to: speak, read, understand, and respond to a variety of written and spoken communications; apply accurate spelling and grammar in written communications; and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Knowledge of standard statistical techniques and research reporting sufficient to research, access information, and summarize and manipulate data and information in an organized format.
Lead work sufficient to manage, organize and direct tasks and projects, follow up with appropriate administrators and staff, lead meetings, and perform all responsibilities of the position.
Word processing sufficient to use software to create, format, edit, print, and save a variety of documents and spreadsheets. Experience in a position which required the development of administrative and programmatic procedures.
Ability to interpret policies and procedures to quickly assess a problem and make independent decisions.
Experience in Higher Education
