Madison College is looking to fill a vacancy in their Center for International Education. In this position, the International Student Recruitment, Communications Coordinator, and Program Advisor supports the growth, success, and retention of international students at Madison College. The position is charged with the recruitment of new international students and the conversion of new applicants into enrollments, based on strategic goals of the college and Center for International Education.
This position reports to the Director, Center for International Education.

This is an exempt, 52 weeks per year position. General working hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Madison College offers a generous benefit package including health and dental benefits. The employee selected will serve a twelve (12) month introductory period. This position does not offer a relocation package. This posting may be used to fill similar vacancies that occur within six months of the closing date.
Assists in the development and implementation of the annual international student recruitment plan under the guidance of the Center for International Education Director. The plan supports college marketing and enrollment management goals and includes travel-based and armchair strategies, such as fairs, events, information sessions, outreach to partners, agent contract facilitation, social media, virtual fairs, virtual student profiles, online ads, and digital media. Cultivates relationships with agents, monitors agent activities, generates agent contracts, and provides agents with necessary training, information, and knowledge to successfully recruit students on the College's behalf. Builds relationships with community partners, local organizations, and high school counselors. Implements the use of technology to track leads, manage communications and engage with prospective students. Coordinates prospective student scholarship processes with agent partners and college units. Identifies and recommends best practices and participates in the investigation, development, and implementation of new services and processes in response to international student recruitment needs and trends.
Assists with marketing and communications coordination and support for CIE Services including study abroad, virtual exchange, recruitment, agent partners, programming promotion, and to prospective, new, and current international students including outreach to alumni with the support of the Center for International Education Director. Marketing and communication plans include website content, written and print materials, email messages and campaigns, recruitment lead lists, social media and video promotions, digital marketing campaigns, targeted advertising, and newsletters. Implements and maintains an alumni network and database to showcase graduates, employment trends, and support market strategies. Collaborates with other campus units to align with other student communication initiatives. Coordinates with external partners in developing country-specific online strategies to increase brand and awareness.
Leads technology support related to international recruitment and related initiatives, including maintenance and improvements to existing resources, and implementation and development of new tools with direction by the Center for International Education Director. Assists and coordinates technology support recruitment initiatives including social media marketing, online lead generation and tracking, automated communications, and integration with CIE business processes. Provides support and collaboration to facilitate the transition from prospective student inquiry to applicant to new student enrollment. Uses database to track and monitor student inquiries and matriculation and to adjust recruitment strategy and techniques.
Advises, guides and acts as liaison for international prospective students and applicants through the admission process and supports their transition to becoming a new student. Maintains knowledge and advises students of international student admissions policies and procedures including F and J visa requirements, SEVIS reporting, and specific international admissions processes. Support CIE operations including programming and other student retention efforts. Serve as current student visa advising backup and maintain federal DSO authorization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
Demonstrated skill in communications and human relations with populations of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and persons with disabilities.
Knowledge of best practices in higher education international programs including current international student mobility trends, market forces, enrollment management, recruitment strategies, and related technology systems, or equivalent experience. Knowledge of or experience in higher education environments, including both two-year and four-year institutions in the United States, 2+2 transfer, and understanding or awareness of education systems in international locations.
Knowledge of student visa regulations, systems, and processes for international student visa issuance, status maintenance, and recordkeeping including familiarity with the federal SEVIS system, or dedicated interest in rigorous training to learn. Demonstrated experience in advising or providing guidance to individuals including confidentiality requirements and ethical standards. Knowledge of student development theory and experience with student advising preferred.
Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with individuals at all levels in the organization, students and their family members, and external stakeholders including international partners. Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in an organizational or group setting. Ability to be flexible and adapt to a fast-paced office with a commitment to professional development. Commitment to the college mission, vision and values, and the ability to represent the college brand identity with respect and excellence.
Demonstrated cultural competencies and intercultural communication required for effective interaction with diverse populations including demonstrated skill in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals such as, but not limited to students, staff, and external stakeholders. Ability to travel independently, experience and comfort traveling and working in unfamiliar environments, and flexibility to accommodate occasional night, weekend, and other irregular hours. Experience with international travel preferred.
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills including the ability to initiate and manage multiple complex projects and initiatives, work independently or with limited supervision, and make decisions with minimal direction. Ability to use thinking and reasoning to make decisions, find solutions, take actions and be proactive with problem solving. Demonstrated ability to work with detailed information, assemble and organize data and prepare reports. Demonstrated ability to develop and coordinate marketing and communication initiatives across a variety of mediums and for a variety of audiences.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and conduct seminars, programs, and or workshops. Demonstrated skills in effective and professional oral, written, and visual communication in varied formats such as but not limited to digital, video, print, web-based, email, newsletters, and social media.
Demonstrated ability to use standard office technology for communications, data collection, record-keeping and analysis. Demonstrated ability to develop new and improve upon existing processes involving multiple systems and databases. Microsoft Office skills essential. Preferred experience with any or all the following systems: Terra Dotta, CRM, EAB Navigate, OnBase, Workday, Microsoft Teams, and PeopleSoft. Basic knowledge of budget and general bookkeeping procedures preferred.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in education, International Relations, Intercultural Communication, Anthropology, World Languages, or related field OR four (4) years (8,000 hours) of directly related work experience in international student services or related international education field.
*Experience used as an equivalent of an educational requirement is in addition to any experience required by the position.
Two (2) years (4,000 hours) of directly related work experience in international student services or related international education field.
Preferred: 2 years' cumulative experience with recruitment, marketing/communications, or related fields, preferably working to recruit international students to U.S. higher education institution(s). Preferred bilingual language competency sufficient to conduct meetings with prospective students, parents, and stakeholders.
SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) Designated School Official (DSO). Per federal regulation, a SEVIS DSO must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
