Position Summary:
Be involved in all aspects of Office of Disability Services. This is a 19 hour per week part time position.
Position Responsibilities:
Work with students with disabilities throughout the University, both undergraduate and graduate programs
Provide intake to new students explaining services and describing necessary documentation to receive accommodations/accessibility/assistive technology/emotional support animals/meal plan modification approvals
Evaluate student documentation and determine reasonable accommodations based on disability diagnoses and associated functional limitations
Meet with students to discuss reasonable accommodations and provide Letters of Accommodation each semester to qualifying students
Consult with liaison administrators, faculty members, and students in graduate programs regarding any issues with students who have disabilities
Record all communications with students, parents, administrators, and professors regarding students registered in Disability Services
Maintain and update referral sources available to students for disability evaluations etc.
Undertake additional responsibilities, as deemed necessary
Experience & Educational Background:
College degree required, master's degree preferred
Minimum 1 years of work experience with high school or college students or in a social services role
Skills & Competencies:
Ability to work independently, professionally, and collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty on both Undergraduate and Graduate levels
Salary Range:
$37.00- $42.00 per hour
