Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of Student Accountability will provide operational and programmatic support for students engaged in the university conduct process. They will assist the Associate Director in determining the vision of the Office of Student Accountability including process and procedural changes as needed within the office's authority. The Assistant Director will administer the Code of Student Life and the Accountability Procedure by interviewing students, determining responsibility, and, if appropriate, imposing the appropriate sanctions. This position may also investigate student organization misconduct allegations. The Assistant Director will use restorative practices in their work with individual students and student organizations. The Assistant Director will assist the Associate Director in outreach activities, programming, and staff/student training opportunities.
Specific Job Duties & Tasks:
Coordinate the Office of Student Accountability's annual report.
Prepare periodic reports of student discipline patterns and trends.
Assist the Associate Director in determining and evaluating the strategic plan and program implementation for the Office of Student Accountability
Fulfill assigned portions of internal and external policy and programmatic reviews
Respond to inquiries from staff, faculty, and parents/guardians about the Code of Student Life and Accountability Procedure, including responding to and delegating email inquiries.
Assist with training, development, and programming for students, staff, and faculty.
Investigate complaints of violations of university policies by students and student organizations.
Prepare formal, written findings, at the conclusion of investigations for cases where suspension, expulsion, and registered student organization status is in question.
Assist in reviewing Code of Student Life and Accountability Procedure on an annual basis.
Assist in coordinating the assessment efforts of the office and utilize information to improve existing processes.
Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate the student accountability coordinator.
Provide oversight and direction, in consultation with the Associate Director, of the Restorative Practices program and implementation.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Higher Education/Student Development or related field or equivalent experience.
Experience working in a higher education setting (typically 1-3 years)
Work experience in public speaking, and/or teaching (typically 6mo-1yr)
Knowledge and application of the communication techniques (written and verbal) and relationship building skills that develop the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Must be proficient in computer software applications including database management, such as cloud-based management tools, Access, Maxient, etc.
Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining a welcoming and respectful environment.
Desirable Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Higher Education/Student Development or related field or a Juris Doctorate (JD).
Experience working with disciplinary procedures within an educational institution (typically 3-5 years).
Work experience developing and delivering training in an educational setting.
Knowledge of college or university environment, including college student development and student disciplinary matters.
