As a Part-Time ClassifiedStudent Services Specialist, you will be responsible for connecting students with existing funding source monies for retention and completion goals of the College. The Student Resource Specialist is responsible for ensuring the requirements of SOWIB/WOIA/ETPL are met. In addition, they are also responsible for identifying students and matching eligibility criteria with a variety of funding sources, ensuring all objectives are met. The Student Resource Specialist provides outreach, advising, and mentoring to students, ensures students receive personalized career and college coaching, as well as successfully complete GED and college programs. This position will refer students to internal and external partners for additional support as needed. Works independently under supervision of Director of Student Community Services. This position works within the framework and towards the success of the Student Services Work Plan and the College?s Strategic ?doing? Plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
Associate?s degree or equivalent work experience required.
Demonstrated knowledge of grant tracking, reporting, and accounting required.
Proficiency in utilization of spreadsheet, word processing, ort other database software required.
Experience developing and presenting seminars, workshops, and/or trainings.
Demonstrated skills working with students, in particular developing quality mentor relationships.
Demonstrated sensitivity and experience working with students and/or individuals from diverse social, economic, academic, and cultural backgrounds.
Current Oregon driver's license and good driving record required, as well as willingness to provide own transportation.
Preferred (Not Required) Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in relevant subject area preferred.
Student services experience in higher education.
Previous experience with unemployed, under-employed, low-income, veterans, re-entry, disabled, dislocated workers, English Language Learners, GED students, first generation immigrants and/or first-generation students.
Experience in case management, crisis intervention, employment services, recruitment, training programs, social work, or related experience.
Experience working with workforce systems and resources.
