The Senior Assistant Director will support the enrollment goals of University Admissions by overseeing staff managing admissions communications, campus visit experiences, and recruitment events. This position will collaborate closely with, and report to, the Associate Director of Marketing, Communications & Events and supervise up to five staff members (three Assistant Directors of Communications, Assistant Director of Campus Visits, and Assistant Director of Events), providing direction, continuous training & holistic development, and growth.?
Responsibilities and Duties
Oversee communications campaigns across email, mobile/SMS text, social media and print publications ensuring timely delivery, appropriate segmentation, and accurate messaging. This includes managing a detailed communications schedule, understanding admissions audiences & segmentation, and incorporating TU processes, deadlines and brand across email marketing journeys, event promotion, social media engagement, and publications.
Provide leadership and direction of the performance of communication efforts, efficiency, and effectiveness to inform senior leadership.??
Oversees campus tour & visit operations to ensure superior customer service and a top-notch experience. This includes proving leadership for the Student Ambassador program (hiring, training, quality assurance and development) through indirectly supervising approximately 50-75 students per year. The Student Ambassadors deliver daily campus tours. ?
Oversees all recruitment & yield events (20+ a year) for University Admissions such as open houses, admitted student days, and hosting community partners. This includes managing all event logistics (location, catering, A/V, schedule, etc.) to ensure a well-executed event and collaborating with admissions staff, academic colleges, student service staff, and other campus partners.
Provide leadership and direction on events, organize materials, manage event budgets, create & manage all event registrations, and collect and analyze visit data to inform senior leadership.?
Visits & Event audiences include (but not limited to) high school students, transfer students, graduate students, international students, and high school counselors.
Supervise Assistant Director staff members by providing?daily staff guidance, training & development for employees, complete annual performance reviews and feedback to assist with performance improvement, professional development, and skills/competency development.?
Under the direction of the Associate Director, assist with the development of strategic planning & direction the Marketing, Communications & Events department operations. The Senior Assistant Director will foster on-going relationships within the university, including admissions & enrollment management staff, faculty, campus partners, student employees, alumni, and external constituents to keep current on key issues, projects, goals, staff training, and policy development/execution ensure success within university admissions.?
Use data analytics, budget forecasts, performance data, and market insights for integrated marketing communications deployment efforts.
Be the subject matter expert on program positioning within their portfolio and work with the marketing team, program teams, admissions, and other stakeholders to enhance the messaging and positioning within that space to achieve desired outcomes for the scale and constituency of an ideal prospective enrollment.?
Counsel prospective, newly admitted and currently enrolled freshman students on admission to TU.?Represent TU by providing excellent customer service and answering questions for the freshman population via phone, email, or in-person. Understand admissions policies and requirements to ensure success within University Admissions. Provide information presentations during campus visits when needed.?
Complete general admissions duties including, but not limited to, customer service, applicant processing, holistic review, on-campus events, special projects, campus committees, and any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree with 4 years’ experience OR Master’s degree with 2 years’ experience.
Work experience counted must be related to Marketing, Communications or Events (all industries considered).
1 year management experience.
4-6 years’ work experience.
Excellent communication and organizational skills (oral, written, and interpersonal).
High attention to detail Superior customer service and problem-solving skills.
Ability to create well-organized presentations and communications.
Experience collaborating, communicating, and coordinating with others to execute a project or event.
Experience supervising/directing other staff, volunteers, students, or interns.
Experience using marketing technology platforms and CRM such as Slate, Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, and online event management systems.
