Stanford University is seeking a 100% FTE Student Services Specialist (Hybrid) to provide administrative and operational support to faculty, staff, postdocs, and students on issues regarding admission, financial aid, housing, registrar services, visa services, student life, advising, career counseling, and academic services for the Department of Chemical and Systems Biology. The ideal candidate will also take the initiative to identify, clarify, and resolve routine issues of limited scope within their own work area using general guidelines and standards or precedents as reference. The department has 12 faculty, 50 graduate students, and 44 postdoctoral scholars and seeks to advance biomedical science through molecular and quantitative approaches and translate laboratory discoveries into new clinical therapies. We are one of the premier basic science departments in the country, attracting stellar graduate students and fellows who advance to positions as top scientists and academic leaders in their field.
Duties include:
* Review documents and forms for completeness, track files for follow up and distribute for review. * Research and resolve routine issues, refer complex issues to other staff. * Input data, update electronic databases, web sites, literature, and associated materials. May collect, gather and validate data, prepare basic reports. * Coordinate logistics for outreach activities, meetings, and events. * Respond to routine inquiries from students, faculty, external constituents, and staff. * Serve as a subject matter resource to students and other departments. * Contribute to general office administration and process improvements. * May train and direct day to day activities of student and temporary workers.

The expected pay range for this position is $22.88 to $36.54 per hour.
