Under the direction of the Dean and working closely with Nursing faculty, the Student Services Coordinator (SSC) will coordinate all student services for the Department of Nursing Science, including student advising of pre-Nursing students, transfer students, RN-BSN students. Advise up to 200 pre advising students. Under the direction to of the Nursing Faculty Organization facilitates admissions process and advising experience. Orients student advising to changes in nursing The Student Services Coordinator maintains contact and serves as a liaison and resource with internal and external constituents. The Student Services Coordinator is involved in the development of effective strategies to improve the experiences and success of pre-Nursing and Nursing students within the University. The SSC works closely with the Student Relations coordinator in the College of Health and Wellness Professions to recruit and retain students into SHHS and support student success.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree plus 2 years of related experience, or Bachelor?s degree plus (5) five years of related experience
Demonstrated experience in student advising
Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret student data
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated successful experience with working in an innovative team
Working knowledge of student development and student life concerns during the university experience
Demonstrated ability to advise and mentor diverse students
Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret student data
Strong attention to detail and proven organizational skills
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment
Preferred Qualification
Master?s degree in related field
