Provide leadership to directors and coordinators that oversee Academic and Specialized Advising, Center for New Students Program, Integrative Learning (Honors, Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), Learning Communities, First-Year Courses (Start Smart), and Retention Initiatives, as well as supervision of student development faculty. Ensure planning and assessment of all programs and services offered by the Student Success and Retention unit, including the new student success model initiative.
Supervise and evaluate staff of the Student Success and Retention unit and provides direction and oversight for all operational activities and support their professional growth and development.
Research, maintain, analyze and interpret data to identify best practices and develop strategies to increase student success, including retention, Path for Success milestone achievement, and institutional effectiveness measures.
Work with direct reports to use data to assess the effectiveness of program and services, and the development of goals and objectives which are in alignment with the College's priorities.
Develop, implement, promote and maintain activities and programs to increase persistence, retention completion and transfer of students at the College. Additionally, ensure that new students are onboarded properly and support at-risk students by ensuring that they are connected with campus and community services.
Develop and recommend a fiscally responsible operating budget for the division and assume responsibility for the management of the adopted budget for the current fiscal year.
Allocate resources and implement procedures for the request, purchase and maintenance of budget exceptions for furniture, technology, supplies, equipment, programming, and personnel, and maintain accurate inventory control.
Pursue appropriate grant opportunities for programs and facilities within the division. Manage and/or support institutional and division grants that enhance services, programming, and/or student success metrics
Supervise the divisional office staff and maintain adequate records and office equipment for the division. Ensure sufficient staff support to faculty members within the division. evaluates the adjunct/FT faculty
Demonstrate and promote a strong culture of diversity, equity and inclusion. Appreciates and supports diversity of faculty, staff and students at Harper College.
Demonstrate leadership in the core values of respect, integrity, collaboration and excellence within the Division and across the College.
Contribute to the success of the College's Strategic Plan. Develops Student Success and Retention Department annual goals and supports the team to achieve the goals.
Serve as an agent of the College within the community as related to the departments of the Division.
Promote the visibility of the division within the College and within the larger Harper community.
Commit to regular professional development to acquire new skills and knowledge to promote effective academic leadership for the Division and the College.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Associate Provost for Student Affairs.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Work is primarily indoors and sedentary in nature.
Equipment/Tools Used:
Utilizes standard office equipment, including computers, in order to perform the duties of the job.
Supervision:
Under the general supervision of the Associate Provost for Student Affairs. Provides supervision for designated departments

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Master's Degree in Higher Education, Community College Leadership, Teaching and
Learning, Counseling or related field. A doctoral degree is preferred.
Experience: Five years of higher education management experience and previous experience working in student success and retention programs and activities. Experience and ability to work directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. Effective communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to give presentations to a variety audience and to community stakeholders.
