Job Summary/Basic Function:

• Offer both general and specialized career advising to students and alumni interested in careers related to business/ finance. Conduct one-on-one and group sessions to educate and prepare students for internships, full-time job, and graduate school applications, encompassing research techniques, search strategies, networking approaches, resume and interview preparation, and salary negotiation guidance.
• Support the implementation of newly developed career community model by supervising five Career Pathway Advisors. This involves ensuring that students and alumni receive tailored career advising, resources, and programming to support their professional development.
• Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the Center for Career Development by collaborating with other department leaders to set goals, evaluate program effectiveness, develop marketing strategy, and implement initiatives. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance the center's overall impact, ensuring alignment with institutional objectives and the evolving needs of students.
• Facilitate the execution of signature career events, workshops, and boot camps in the Business & Finance Career Community. Assess industry requirements by working closely with faculty, employers & alumni. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, develop tailored career exploration programs, and organize trips for the Business & Finance Community. Deliver engaging classroom presentations and collaborate with faculty to integrate career readiness initiatives into classroom learning and projects, providing students with valuable insights and guidance regarding their careers.
• Collaborate with the Associate Provost for Experiential Education to ensure the Pathway Advisors are adhering to the standards and protocols related to the academic internship program's (INP) learning goals and delivery of its reflective curriculum. Work with an assigned cohort of students to read, evaluate, and provide comprehensive feedback on student assignments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Five to eight years in college-level career services.
• Proven experience in supervising professional-level staff.
• Demonstrated passion for and skill in working with undergraduate students, with leadership and supervisory experience.
• In-depth knowledge of current professional practices and challenges in career-education programming.
• Clear understanding of and affinity for the purpose and value of a private residential liberal arts college.
• Expertise in program creation, planning, implementation, and assessment.
• Proficient with career-related CRMs and platforms.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-changing environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, particularly in translating the value of liberal arts into graduate outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal relationship-building skills and experience working with a wide range of constituents, including employers, faculty, students, and alumni.
• Experience communicating with and supporting people from diverse backgrounds, with a commitment to upholding DEI initiatives.
• Comfort and experience with digital tools and technology, including social media.
