Department Summary:

Position Summary:
The Staff Associate, Coordinator of online program and student support is responsible for coordinating and providing advising, support, and advocacy for students enrolled in online programs. Providing course development and administrative assistance to faculty teaching courses as part of the online programs. The position serves as a liaison to students and faculty with Information Technology, the Registrars Office, Student Accounts, and other university offices. Supports the development of online programs and assist in project planning and implementation. It also supports the development of comprehensive student services for all Continuing Studies students.
This position is located on campus in Bridgewater, MA. This position is eligible for hybrid/remote work in accordance with BSUs remote work policy.
This is an APA position and is subject to the terms of that union agreement.

Essential Duties:
-Provide support regarding the logistics of the colleges online education degree programs with a service orientation to faculty, staff, students, and outside constituents. -Coordinates with offices providing student support services to assist navigating students seamlessly from initial contact through completion. -Coordinate and provide advising, support and advocacy for online program students. -Provide advising for online program students as needed. -Facilitate student communications with university offices. -Provide course development and administrative support for faculty teaching courses in online programs, including acting as a liaison with Information Technology and the Teaching and Technology Center. -Contribute to the development of support and retention programs for Continuing Studies students. -Coordinate support programs and retention for Continuing Studies students. -Enter required course data in Banner and other systems at the beginning of each semester. Troubleshoot solutions to technical problems that faculty and students encounter as they engage in online courses and programs. -Assist with projects in the Online Program development center and the college.
Required Qualifications:
-Bachelors degree in an applicable discipline. -One to two years of experience in student support. -Experience working with an online learning management system. -Strong written and oral communication skills. -Fluency with online technologies and ability to learn new applications and systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience working with online programs or online students. -Experience with the Blackboard learning management system. -Experience in supporting online course development -Experience working with post-traditional student populations.
