Alabama State University, Student Affairs, invites applications to fill the vacant Testing Center Director. The Testing Center Director will manage testing services, supervise staff, develop and implement procedures, goals, and objectives. The Director reports to the Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs/Student Success Units. The Testing Center Director will work with state agencies, Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, Faculty, and certification organizations as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees all daily operations of testing and assessment duties by maintaining all related records, budgets, and communications.
Promotes a secure testing environment while creating a positive learning experience for students, faculty, and external patrons.
Works with the Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs/Student Success Units to develop and update services, policies, and procedures as related to the Testing Center.
Researches and stays up to date on new industry educational resources standards, best practices, and emerging technology to ensure academic integrity for the testing center.
Coordinates programming, and maintains updated statewide testing assessments including the procedures for faculty, students, and external constituents utilizing the testing centers.
Maintains testing standards, statistics, and national certifications through the National College Testing Association (NCTA) and prepares monthly and annual reports.
Administers the Accuplacer placement assessments for appropriate incoming students.
Hires, trains, and supervises the center?s staff on testing protocol.
Coordination with the Office of Technology Services (OTS) to ensure that the underlying systems and applications required by the testing systems are supported, maintained, and updated.
Manages the unit budget, purchase requisitions, and supplies/equipment inventories.
Maintains the Testing Center webpage for updated testing information.
Responsible for all testing contracts, billing, and revenue. This includes managing the ordering of assessments, administration, returning of test materials, and associated billing with testing vendors.
Oversees online proctoring services to Distance Learners.
Coordinates, implements, and oversees the administration of several exams to include the following: Major Field Tests (MFT), College of Education Exit Exam (COE), Praxis Certification, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Graduate Record Examinations (GRE), College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP), Accuplacer Microsoft Specialist Certifications, American College Testing (ACT), Faculty makeup exams, Institutional College By Exam (ICBE), Real Estate License Examination, Meazure Learning academic and professional credentialing programs, ProV, Inc. assessments, Pearson VUE certification or licensure exams, Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT), Alabama Real Estate Exam, and the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT).
Performs other duties as assigned
Masters in Educational Administration, Testing and Evaluation, or a related field; 5-7 years of experience in educational administration, testing/evaluation administration; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; experience working with computerized and web-based testing and assessment modules; experience in methods and techniques of research and data collection; 5 - 7 years of management experience; experience with pertinent federal, state, and district laws and regulations related to testing and assessment.
