Position Details:Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at Washington State University (WSU) serves a diverse population of WSU Pullman students with the goal of enhancing their personal and academic success and reducing barriers to that success. The position is responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patient's psychiatric problems including crisis stabilization, medication management and coordination with health and counseling services health care providers.
CAPS is part of Cougar Health Services which provides student-centered integrated health and wellness services. In addition to CAPS, Cougar Health Services houses the student medical clinic, pharmacy, vision center, and health promotion department.

Minimum Qualifications:
For All Applicants:
- Experience providing psychiatric treatment to young adults in an outpatient setting.
- Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
For Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners:
- A State of Washington Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license, prescriptive authority and National Certification must be obtained within one (1) year of employment.
- Licensed as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the State of Washington at the time of hire.
- Certification as a CNS or NP in psychiatric/mental health.
- Must possess prescriptive authority at the time of hire.
For Psychiatrists:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO). Completion of an accredited residency program in area of practice. Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, licensure as a doctor of medicine (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) by the State of Washington.
- Unrestricted physician license in the State of Washington.
- Completion of an accredited residency in psychiatry.
- Board Certification/Eligibility in psychiatry.
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted Federal Controlled Substance Registration (DEA).
- Ability to obtain at least affiliate level privileges at Pullman Regional Hospital.
Preferred Qualifications:
For All Applicants:
- College health experience or experience treating young adults
For Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners:
- Two (2) years work experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
