St. John's University Career Services is seeking a Career and Internship Advisor to support the career readiness and success of students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
The St. John's University Career Services team strives to ensure equitable access to career resources for all students and alumni as they work towards meaningful and satisfying careers.
Showcase your talents by creatively engaging students, delivering high quality career education, and creating career connections. The ideal candidate will cultivate productive relationships with faculty and utilize technology and on-demand resources as well as next destination data and marketing analytics to meet the students where they are, while advancing individual opportunities and pathways to career.
The Advisor will be part of a centralized team of career professionals, serving both undergraduate and graduate students, and alumni. The Advisor has the benefit of being co- located within a college, providing proximity to students and faculty, allowing for significant opportunities to contribute to student success. The Advisor will support the overall effectiveness of the Career Services department and the Division of Student Affairs.

Responsibilities:
Acquire and maintain comprehensive knowledge of assigned academic programs and pedagogy to provide intentional career programming, resources, and advisement to selected
Collaborate closely with college faculty, departments, student groups, and alumni to develop and lead both foundational training and customized career-related programs.
Maximize access to career resources for all students across John's University'scolleges and campuses, as a member of the centralized University Career Services team.
Provide individual and group advisement to target population(s) while exploring avenues for virtual and on-demand engagement for students and alumni
Facilitate advanced level career development programming for graduate level students and other targeted
Contribute to the selection and/or development of innovative career planning and job search resources designed to enhance students' preparedness for post graduate
Remain informed of national, state, and local hiring practices, guidelines, and labor related
Assist students to navigate the career decision making process through activities, programs, and the utilization of career assessment tools when appropriate.
Foster a productive and inclusive environment that encourages student enrollment, retention, persistence, and positive
Support the mission and strategic priorities of the University.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of three to five years of experience in career services, human resources, career coaching, corporate recruiting/business development, or related field. Proven success in developing and maintaining internal and external
Excellent resume, interviewing and job search skills
Must be collaborative, self-directed, outcome oriented, and able and willing to work under pressure with frequent Possess strong customer service focus for internal and external constituents and success working both independently and in cross- functional teams.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual/hourly salary range for this position is $65,000 - $71,000.
