Summary of Position: | Provide comprehensive supervision of 1 residence hall. Actively participates on departmental and university-wide committees, manages facilities, advises housing student organization; coordinates programming/community development and provides overall leadership in the academic, social and emotional development of students. In addition, the Hall Director serves as a conduct hearing officer recommending educational outcomes up to and including probation. Works with Housing operations on the Big Rapids campus. Collaborates with KCAD Student Engagement staff for programming. Collaborates with University departments including Ferris Housing and Residence Life, Title IX, Student Conduct, CARE/ERS/Behavioral Response Team and others as needed. Participates in trainings with Ferris Housing and Residence Life staff. Makes appropriate referrals to Big Rapids and KCAD departments and resources. In collaboration with Admissions and Housing, oversees the marketing materials, advertising and recruiting for KCAD residents at the Lofts @ 5 Lyon. Collaborates with The Lofts @ 5 Lyon management for check-in/check-out, policies and emergencies. Advises KCAD students on all housing options and manages the Ferris 360 Housing Group. Support, promote, and develop University student enrollment and retention initiatives. Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members. Perform any other duties assigned within the position classification area. This is a 2 year position. | |
