RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Full-Time Faculty, Automotive Technology or Diesel and Heavy Equipment is a full-time position responsible for designing and implementing learning strategies for students; developing course syllabi and instructional materials; maintaining instructional records; maintaining a safe laboratory environment; communicating equipment, and supply needs; participating in College activities and committees; and other duties which support the mission and initiatives of the College. This position reports directly to the Division Chair, Professional and Technical Careers. Full-Time Faculty, Automotive Technology or Diesel and Heavy Equipment has the following responsibilities:
Promote College mission, vision and values
Teach assigned courses at various locations to meet program needs, including, but not limited to day, evening, and weekend
Ensure that each class session contains essential curricular components, has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency
Evaluate student progress and provide appropriate, timely feedback
Provide and/or facilitate quality experiences in the classroom and practical setting to meet program needs
Develop course syllabi and provide appropriate written information to students concerning course evaluation and criteria
Incorporate appropriate instructional technology to enhance student learning
Assist in the evaluation of courses and programs
Prepare and submit instructional records, reports and grades established by institutional policy.
Attend appropriate College and School meetings
Assist in student recruitment and retention
Maintain accessibility to students, faculty and staff
Maintain a high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.
Participate in professional development to enhance instructional and technical skills
Perform other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Associates Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Automotive Technology or Diesel and Heavy Equipment or related field or a minimum of 3 years related work experience
Creativity and openness to change
Strong computer skills and commitment to the use of technology in instruction
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively and collegially with others in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field
