Position Information The Pathway Programs at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine is committed to diversifying the physician workforce and offers unique programs serving high school, community college, university and postbaccalaureate students. Pathway Programs is a team of professionals who are committed to achieving the Mission of the UCR School of Medicine through providing programs and services for students from educationally and socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
The Pathway Programs Coordinator collaborates with Pathway Programs Director and Associate Dean of Student Affairs to implement programs and activities. The incumbent's responsibilities include: outreach and recruitment, admissions screening, and coordinating professional development and advising workshops. The incumbent coordinates the Medical Leaders of Tomorrow and Health Sciences Partnership programs. The incumbent collaborates with the Pathway Programs to expand mentorship opportunities for high school and college students. The incumbent represents UCR School of Medicine Pathway Programs at recruitment fairs, conferences, colleges and universities, high schools, and regional events and meetings. This is a position is funded by a five-year Health Professions Pathways Program grant from the California Department of Health Care Access and the project is currently in year one of the performance period. Positions may be extended based on funding and program needs.

Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
Experience Requirement 2 - 4 years of related experience. Required Experience advising students from educationally disadvantaged backgrounds. Required Experience working in higher education. Preferred
Minimum Requirements Special Condition Requirement Must possess or obtain a Valid CA Driver License in accordance with the California Department of Motor Vehicles, if driving a university/personal vehicle for university related business. Required Shift Work (hours outside standard Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM work hours) Required Occasional travel for university related business meetings, conferences and/or professional development. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population. Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations and other institutions. Working knowledge of UC, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to prospective applicants and the public. Working knowledge of admissions requirements for campus/school/college. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Working knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs at UC.
