POSITION DETAILS
Brooklyn College of the City University of New York (CUNY) provides a transformative, distinctive, and affordable education to students from all backgrounds. Brooklyn College enrolls approximately 6000 students annually, including new freshman, new transfer and new graduate students. In addition to participating in at least four Open House events on campus each semester, on average representatives of the College attend 150 events and/or programs on and off campus each semester.
Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Associate Director of Recruitment, with wide latitude for independent judgment is responsible for managing an effective plan to recruit freshmen, transfer, and non-traditional students, and the management of all on and off campus recruitment activities.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage the plan to recruit students to the college, including freshmen, transfer, and non-traditional students;
Develop and maintain a seasonal and year recruitment calendar to recruit freshmen, transfer, and non-traditional students
Manage all on campus and off campus undergraduate and recruitment events. Assign counselors and other personnel to scheduled events and Open Houses, ensuring appropriate coverage and representation of the College;
Identify and recommend new areas for recruitment strategies particularly for adult students
Work with Communications and Marketing to promote events to prospective students, and to develop and implement marketing and recruitment strategies
Supervise, train and develop the staff of the Admissions Information Center and professional recruitment staff.
Develop and implement a comprehensive on campus visitation program. Identify, develop and maintain new geographic recruitment territories.
Counsel prospective freshmen, transfer and non-traditional students.
Utilize and integrate Hobson???s Connect into all recruitment activities and strategies.
Work on Special projects as assigned
Available to work some evenings and weekends

Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Competency for analyzing application-related data and assessing recruitment activities as part of a strategic enrollment planning initiative.
Experience with Hobsons Connect or other computer-based CRM systems and a commitment to use of technology and analytics in recruitment and marketing strategies.
Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
Experience working with diverse populations.
Demonstrated skill with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Available to work some evenings and weekends

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Health Plan Coverage for Employees Hired on or after October 1, 2022 City of New York employees and employees of Participating Employers and their eligible dependents hired on or after October 1, 2022 will only be eligible to enroll in the EmblemHealth HIP HMO Preferred Plan and must remain in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan for the first year (365 days) of employment.
After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365th day period.
If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.
Only after the 365th day can the employee participate in any Annual Fall Transfer Period. An employee who needs to request an exemption from the required enrollment in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan can do so by submitting a HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form to EmblemHealth. An employee, or eligible dependent, must meet certain criteria and the request must be approved by EmblemHealth before the exemption is granted. The HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form and HIP service area are available on the EmblemHealth website.
