Position Summary
The Assistant Director for the Office of Student Care and Outreach position provides holistic support for student success through administrative outreach and care coordination when concerns are shared for a student's health or well-being. The Assistant Director is a resource, advocate, and liaison for a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, parents, families, and community partners to support and contribute to student success at Elon University.

Minimum Required Education and Experience
Completed bachelor's degree and at least 2 year of post-bachelor's experience required.
Preferred Education and Experience
Completed master's degree in higher education, student personnel, or related field and 1-2 years of experience (including graduate assistantships/apprenticeships) in Student Care and Outreach or a related functional area in higher education strongly preferred.
Job Duties
Provide Direct Outreach and Support for Students: - Conduct CARE meetings with students and update case notes; - Assist with office triage (urgent calls, requests, etc.); - Communicate with parents, families, campus partners
Minimizing Individual and Systemic Barriers to Student Success: - Provide targeted educational outreach and trainings to families, faculty, staff, and students based on campus requests and assessment needs data; - Serve as primary liaison to selected student populations to assist with building relationships and processes to ensure awareness of available resources
Engage in Educational Outreach and Training: - Work collaboratively with other departments within the Division of Student Life and across the University to identify and align systems of support, opportunities, services and referrals for student success; - Participate in the assessment of student development needs and the design of new programs, services, and communication strategies to respond to those needs; - Engage on division and university committees related to health and wellness support for students
Additional Responsibilities: - Support departmental strategic planning, goal setting, priority completion, evaluation and assessment, and data-driven decision making; - Support university events, including, but not limited to: Convocations, Commencement, Family Weekend, and events related to Admissions and/or New Student Orientation; - Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team, which includes serving in a rotational on-call emergency response role; - Serve on university, divisional, or departmental committees, task forces, and search committees; - Other related duties as assigned by the Director of the Office of Student Care and Outreach
