Job Description
The Orientation Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and implementation of onboarding new students. This work involves the coordination and implementation of onboarding of new student orientation, new and returning registration programming, which encompasses Huskies Advising and Registration events, Huskies First Four Days, and other programs.
The Orientation Coordinator assists with all aspects of orientation and transition programming for new undergraduate students (e.g., first year, transfer, international, non-traditional, PSEO). This includes maintaining online orientation and executing large-scale events (Including Advising and Registration events) in collaboration with professional staff advisors, faculty, and staff. The coordinator will utilize technology to assist in preparing and revising presentations, publications, communication streams, training manuals, reports, and maintaining social media presence.
This position contributes to recruiting, selecting, training, scheduling, coaching, and supervising student staff who work with orientation programming under the direction of the Director of Orientation and Registration, and in close collaboration with the executive director and associate directors of advising and student transitions (A&ST), including attending A&ST staff meetings regularly.
The coordinator will assess outcomes of programs and identify actions for continued improvement.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree with one year of professional or graduate assistantship experience.
Must have experience in one or more of the following areas: large scale event planning, orientation programs, leadership development programs, commencement coordination, or student program board advising
Preferred Qualification
Master?s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, College Counseling/Student Development, or related field.
Knowledge of student development theory sufficient to create effective and engaging orientation, retention, and advising programs and outreach activities to align with program learning outcomes.
Experience managing and creating content managing social media accounts.
Possess computer skills sufficient to manage, query, and analyze data to create reports for student programs.
Experience with recruiting and supporting student employees.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, highly collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and organizational skills sufficient to meet deadlines and align with project constraints (budgetary, staffing, etc.) .
Demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity, including the ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Experience communicating with large groups and a comfort with giving presentations.
Must have experience with oral and written communication skills directed toward diverse audiences (Parents, International Students, Transfer Students, campus departments, etc.)
Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)
Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm with occasional evenings and weekends.
