POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for managing an integrated Residence Life & Housing operation that plays a pivotal role enhancing student retention by fostering an inclusive and supportive campus environment while supporting the mission of Le Moyne College. Directly supervises professional and paraprofessional staff including a Housing Coordinator, 4-5 Area Directors, a Graduate Assistant and 47 Residence Advisors. Ensures the delivery of a structured residential experience in collaboration with various departments aligned with divisional goals. This position offers the option of on-campus housing.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job duties specific to this position:
In collaboration with colleagues within the Student Development Division, utilizes staff and department resources to develop, provide and assess a structured residential experience that offers students developmental experiences and leadership development in a comfortable, safe, satisfying environment.
Serves on the Student Engagement leadership team, training and preparing live-in professional and central office staff to take on supervisory roles and to perform operational functions in both Housing and Residence Life utilizing housing and residence life management software.
Provide supervisory oversight for 5 professional and 47 paraprofessional staff, including hiring, training, and evaluation.
Oversees all Residence Life operations and processes including RA training, selection, residential experiences, duty logs, duty schedules, room condition reporting and the day to day student experience in on-campus housing.
Supervises a 1500 bed Housing operation and processes including but not limited to room assignments, billing operations, openings, closings, room changes, early arrivals/extended stays and housing selection processes
Responds to inquiries from students, parents, and campus partners regarding on and off-campus housing services, options, programs, policies or procedures.
Collaborates with academic and student services to identify and address barriers to student success.
Develops and implements programs that support student engagement, resilience, and academic readiness.
Monitors and analyzes retention data to inform strategic initiatives.
Promotes a culture of connectivity and belonging among students to mitigate feelings of isolation and disconnection.
Tracks on and off campus housing related data in order to provide detailed occupancy reports, retention trends, housing projections and provide historical data as requested.
Oversees medical housing accommodations, commuter requests and requests for exemptions from the College’s 4-year residency requirement.
Partners with Admission, Athletics, Class Deans and other special interest groups on and off campus to determine appropriate on-campus housing assignments for special populations.
Assists with development and administration of housing policies and procedures including the collection of housing agreements, emergency contact information, meal plan agreements and changes, health and safety inspections and maintenance requests.
Communicates and disseminates important housing information, processes, dates, policies and expectations to staff, parents and students.
Collaborates with Events Management to provide housing needs during breaks for current students and outside camps and conferences.
Develops publicity and marketing materials for the department website, CampusGroups, and campus partner publications, emails and texts.
Develops marketing materials for parents, students and campus partners including but not limited to flyers, mailings, emails and social media.
Maintains student room, and common area furniture inventory throughout the year to be used for annual furniture purchases, on-going replacement and long-range planning in partnership with Facilities.
Serves as the department liaison to IT, the Bursar, Registrar, Admission, Community Standards and other offices in order to deliver programmatic experiences to students, receive and process housing applications, assess charges, address student issues, deliver individualized communications, and manage data to report out as needed.
Oversees building access and room key inventory; organizes key check-in/check-out, replacement and associated billing processes.
Coordinates an annual damage billing process to foster accountability, responsible community membership and fund repairs and replacements.
Serves on various campus-wide committees as appropriate.
Serves as a member of the “Administrator on Call” team for the campus
Participates as a member on the Student Development Division leadership team.
Administers annual Quality of Life survey and oversees annual assessment and retention efforts and goal setting for the department.
Provides on-site supervision of events as needed, which will include occasional nights and weekends for major college events like orientation, commencement, open houses, Dolphy Day and various student activities throughout the year.

QUALIFICATIONS
Masters in Higher Education Administration or related field
Ability to manage multiple tasks and ability to prioritize tasks
Strong written and oral communication skills, good with people
At least 2 years of housing experience, post Bachelors, in a college setting
Requires occasional nights and weekends
