JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Under the direction of an assigned supervisor this position coordinates and quality controls the development and maintenance of the Cancer Biobank and Cancer Center investigators' research studies (biobank related), ensuring compliance with Human Research Review Committee (IRB) requirements and all related laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans and organizes the daily operations of the research unit, to include protocol, systems, and staffing administration.
Implements and administers methods and procedures to enhance operations, as appropriate to the unit.
Monitors, balances, and reconciles non-sponsor awarded research accounts.
Develop budgets for new, outgoing grants for Principal Investigator and doctoral students.
Manage database, coordinating research activities with database system.
Provides technical leadership and administrative supervision to technical and clinical staff engaged in the execution of research protocols.
Participates in staff hiring and provides training to research staff.
Develops and/or adapts, implements and evaluates specific research and data collection methodologies, protocols, systems, and techniques, as appropriate to the area of research specialty.
Oversees and coordinates data compilation and computation, ensuring quality control and compliance with protocol.
Participates in experiment design; may develop and/or coordinate research and computer protocols.
Fulfills federal and funder sponsor requirements for reporting of research activities under guidance of Principal Investigator.
Assists in developing research proposals to obtain funding. * Assist in data analysis and reports and publications.
