Detailed Job Description The Senior Staff Assistant provides high-level administrative support for the department's ongoing initiatives and programming related to the day-to-day operations of our Online track. This position reports directly to the Head of the Department of Architecture of the Golisano Institute for Sustainability (GIS). The position will work closely with the Masters of Architecture Online Track Manager, faculty, student support group, and operational staff.
The M.Arch Online Senior Staff Assistant Provides on-campus staffing of the department on a daily basis (8am - 5pm) with consistent and dependable coverage to include coordinating meetings, and greeting students and faculty during normal working hours.
Student Support:
Provides information and administrative support to potential, incoming, and current graduate students, including orientation information, end of year events and reporting, course offerings, and program and Institute policies.
Provides assistance and information regarding graduate and program requirements, scheduling, certifications, registration and matriculation procedures.
Manages annual on campus immersion event for students during the Spring Semester.
Performs graduate student academic degree audits of students enrolled in the M. Arch Online Track.
Administrative Support:
Provides direct administrative support to the Department Head, Online Program Track Manager and faculty.
Facilitates recruiting, hiring, and other human resource processes
Provides assistance and oversight with the department and 2U (online partner) collaboration.
Operations Support:
Manages department-related purchasing
Works with Scheduling Officer to identify M.Arch Online courses
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Education: Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Sensitivity to the concerns of a diverse student body
Ability to multitask and prioritize/handle conflicting demands to meet priorities and deadlines
Reliability and a commitment to maintain confidentiality
High degree of organizational skills and a strong work ethic
Ability to work collaboratively with other Staff Assistants within GIS, and with many diverse groups across campus, as well as with online partnering organization (2U).
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide a friendly and welcoming office environment
