The Physician Assistant Program, located in the School of Heath Sciences at the University of New Haven is seeking to hire a full time NTT faculty member. The faculty member will teach first and second-year students in the Master of Health Science Physician Assistant program and participate in the ongoing assessment of the program according to the accreditation standards established by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). The successful candidate will be committed to academic excellence, student success and ongoing professional development. This position is to begin Fall 2023.

Students develop the competencies necessary to be a successful healthcare professional through supervised clinical practice experiences and a curriculum focused on the development of knowledge and skills required for the effective provision of evidence-based healthcare.
Specific Duties:
-Teach within the Master of Health Science Physician Assistant Program -Coordinate the clinical phase of the Physician Assistant program -Recruit and provide support to clinical preceptors -Develop supervised clinical practice experiences -Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners. -Serve on departmental, school, and university level committees -Participate in the admission, advising, and mentoring of physician assistant students -Participate in activities in support of initial and ongoing accreditation -Participate in continuous program assessment -Maintain compliance with ARC-PA accreditation standards

The program is seeking a nationally certified Physician Assistant with an earned Masters or Doctoral Degree in an area appropriate to physician assistant education. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three years clinical experience and two years of experience teaching within a physician assistant program. Experience in program assessment is preferred. Candidates must be eligible for a Connecticut Physician Assistant license and obtain the license within three months of hire date. Additional requirements include certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and ongoing maintenance of the certification.
