The College of Arts & Letters seeks a fixed-term, annual-year Academic Specialist to serve as College Recruitment and Citizen Scholars Program Coordinator. Citizen Scholars is an undergraduate enrichment program that aims to recruit and retain a diverse student body, supporting them as they develop the competencies needed to foster a more inclusive, just, and open society. The coordinator works closely with the program director to guide Citizen Scholars students in meeting program requirements, facilitating their engagement in co-curricular opportunities and experiential learning, reviewing student progress, participating in the development of assessment materials, and assisting with student-driven initiatives related to the program. The coordinator supervises student interns on program communications and collects, coordinates, and maintains a database of student research and community engagement opportunities.
Collaborating with College Student Affairs and the Admissions office, the recruitment coordinator works to attract and retain a diverse student population for the College and its majors. This involves participation in planning and implementation of campus programs aimed at the recruitment of prospective students, including Green and White Days, Alumni Distinguished Scholarship days, College Visit days, Spartan Club, college fairs, high school visits, and other university recruitment functions. The coordinator works with colleagues on New Student Orientation and admitted student communication and yield activities, and assists with pre-college programs.
The position may begin as early as January 1, 2023.

Minimum Requirements
Masters Degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, humanities, arts, or liberal arts, required. A commitment to student success and experiential education is essential.
Excellent written, oral, and dynamic presentation communication skills are essential. Energetic personality and strong work ethic are necessary.
Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on long term planning and implementation are vital to the success of the applicant.
Technical skills in word-processing, database management, PowerPoint, spreadsheets, and social media/communications.
Commitment to team-building, respectful collaboration, self-reflection, student enrichment, and arts/humanities based engagements with social justice and inclusion.
Desired Qualifications
Well prepared candidates will have at least 1-3 years of full-time work in advising or student affairs.
Experience working with community organizations.
Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student population, faculty, and staff.
