The Assistant Director for Community Standards (ADCS) is an integral part of developing and implementing a new vision for student conduct in higher education. With an emphasis on community, the ADCS works closely with key stakeholders to manage the daily operations of a student conduct process that focuses on education, reflection, restoration, and community impact. The ADCS will provide leadership and training to hearing officers and enforce the Middlebury College Student Handbook.
Essential Functions Manage day-to-day administration of the Middlebury Conduct system (review incident reports, liaise with Public Safety, analyze reported behavior in terms of potential policy violations, manage case flow for all conduct officers in accordance with the student handbook and College policies Participate in the development of policies and procedures relevant to the Middlebury conduct system Analyze the effectiveness and propose changes to address needs of the Middlebury conduct system Serve as the point person and technical expert for Advocate conduct software Develop a broad and detailed understanding of all aspects of the student experience, as well as the support services available on and off campus, in order to serve as a highly informed and collaborative resource for students, faculty, staff, and parents Oversee selection and training and serve as the primary advisor for the Judicial Board Develop sanctions that promote student growth, development and community restoration Provide oversight, support, and develop training for Middlebury conduct officers Identify and provide hazing education for student groups and organizations Serve as the primary resources for students living off-campus and point person for off-campus housing relations and outreach with the community Support campus-wide implementation of Restorative Practices efforts as needed through training, outreach, and consultation
This is considered a full time benefits eligible, exempt position. The starting salary range for the position is $51,300-$64,100 per year.

Education Bachelors required, Masters preferred or relevant experience

Experience 3-5 years of professional experience, at least two years in student conduct (graduate assistant experience counts as professional experience)
