Position Summary
The Coordinator of Residential Academic Initiatives supports the implementation of residential academic initiatives that involve faculty partners, residential learning, and residential college experiences in pursuit of student success and organizational goals.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Assists with the coordination of an effective Faculty Fellow (in residence) and Faculty Associate program. Supports recruitment and selection efforts for faculty partners. Helps to design and implement orientation, training, and onboarding experiences for faculty partners. Supports and implements collaborative faculty programming initiatives within Residential Life. Provides support and engagement with faculty partners via regular communication, newsletters, one on one/ group meetings, trainings, and workshops. Plans large scale events and programs during the academic year as appropriate to develop relationships between Faculty Fellows, Associates, and Living Learning Community (LLC).
Supports student development, programming, and recruitment processes for established and newly designed living learning communities. Helps to co-create the design of living learning communities programs (e.g., retreats, educational and social programs) using the residential curricular model as a foundation. Supports the associate director to support the growth of living learning communities, including the Design Your Own proposal process, the resident application process, and marketing. Serves as primary support to Established LLCs, currently Hamsini and Sakeenah.
Supports initiatives that develop Residential College/Community identity, spirit, and tradition.
Serves on the Residential Education Model Committee with focus on traditions initiatives.
Supports Bear Beginnings programming that involves Residential Colleges, faculty partners, etc.
Coordinates the administrative support of residential learning programs. Inputs the Living Learning Communities, Faculty Fellow, and Faculty Associate purchases into WorkDay. Â
Supports department wide initiatives and events.
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Masterâ™s Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Student Development, or related field and one to three years professional experience.
Professionalism and initiative; Flexibility and creative problem-solving.
Respect for and commitment to student development and student initiative.
Ambitious, responsible and able to work effectively as a member of a team and independently.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with students, faculty, and administrators.
Ability to develop, plan, and implement effective programs, projects, and initiatives.
Willingness and ability to work day, evening, and weekend hours as needed.
Special consideration will be given to applicants who have experience in residential life, student activities/student government, and/or academic affairs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and three years related professional experience or equivalent education and experience to equal seven years.

Salary Range
$47,300.00 - $78,200.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
