Job DescriptionThe Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs will provide the vision and administrative leadership for the Academic Affairs and Student Success Divisions at Pine Technical Community College. The Vice President will lead faculty and staff as they strive to achieve a high standard of excellence and innovation in teaching and learning and student success strategies. The position provides senior management and accountability of faculty, division staff and overall student outcomes. The Vice President provides the vision and overall guidance for associated policy formulation, academic planning, the Higher Learning Accreditation process, divisional budgeting and new program development. The Vice President will report to the college President, and represent Pine Technical and Community College on various MinnState, community, state and national organizations.Minimum QualificationsMaster?s degree from an accredited institution in any field related to college programming or to higher education leadership.Six years of demonstrated academic leadership, including promoting the values of shared governance and participative managementEvidence of experience in the areas of leadership, planning and development, staffing, budget management, evaluation and supervision.Demonstrated understanding of the mission of a comprehensive college in a rural setting.Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of college students.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Experience in planning and leading joint projects with internal and external stakeholders.Preferred QualificationDoctoral degree from an accredited institution in a college-related field with an alignment to managing and leading in higher educationEight or more years of demonstrated academic leadership.Experience with increasing college enrollment, student persistence and student completion rates.Evidence of a strong and clear commitment to diversity among faculty and staff.Other RequirementsIn accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges Universities (Minnesota State) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.A job offer may be contingent upon successfully passing a background check.
