The Department of English is seeking a Student Services Advisor I to join the team! Providing a high level of customer service and ensuring student satisfaction, the Student Services Advisor will support the undergraduate program. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in undergraduate student services. It is critical for the candidate to have the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, prioritize, and multitask.Additionally, the successful candidate should have strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:
Provides academic counseling for undergraduate students. Advises on matters of curriculum, course and degree requirements, transfer credit evaluations, and graduate counseling and clearance. Monitors student progress.
Evaluates student problems, academic, administrative or personal, and refers student to appropriate student services office for additional counseling. Liaises with other offices on behalf of students to facilitate problem resolution.
Maintains academic student records and coordinates registration activities, degree program, enrollment and degree verification.
Interfaces with faculty, administrators, and students regarding academic progress.
Participates in the planning and coordination of student events including commencement, orientation, receptions, and other departmental events.
Coordinates undergraduate course descriptions and undergraduate annual student awards.
Maintains currency on policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to admissions, financial aid, registration, transfer credit evaluations, course and degree requirements, graduation requirements, petitions and other student services.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Education: Bachelors degree
Preferred Experience: 2 years. Knowledge of USC student and academic programs, policies and procedures, and USCs student information system
Hourly range:The hourly rate range for this position is $28.43 - $31.92.
