Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: Associate degree OR any equivalent combination of education and experience. Related education must be from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in business, communications, public relations, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience using a personal computer, office software such as MS Office and electronic mail.
Demonstrated ability to:
-Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, partner organizations and the public. -Work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Proven customer service experience
Cultural and linguistic sensitivity to promote the success of all members of a diverse society. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and organization/multi- tasking skills.
Requires successful completion of a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual proficiency.
Working experience with non-traditional, first generational and high school students.
Knowledge of higher education processes.
Summary of Duties: Provides comprehensive customer service in a high volume and challenging, fast-paced environment. Acts as the initial point of contact for prospective and current students visiting the Gateway and when necessary, refers students to appropriate college resources. Answers questions in person, via e-mail or by phone regarding college policies and procedures related to admissions, registration, testing, advising, financial aid, and other student services. Performs a variety of responsibilities related to Enrollment Services at Central Ohio Technical College, including scheduling appointments and assisting students with enrollment steps. Provides service to a diverse population including adult learners, high school students, visiting students, faculty, staff, parents, and other community members whose needs and interests vary. Provides administrative support to Gateway leadership.
Location: Newark
Work Hours: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm; one day per week 10am to 7pm as arranged, other occasional evenings/weekends may be required.
