The Eligibility Clerk, Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC), is assigned to the Admissions Office and is responsible for processing applications and verifying applicant eligibility for enrollment in EOC training programs. The Eligibility Clerk handles inquiries regarding eligibility and the enrollment process, guides applicants to complete and submit required on-line applications and other required forms, reviews applications and eligibility documents for completeness, accuracy and eligibility, schedules applicants for testing and assists in administering and scoring tests, enters data into the student records system, and processes applications for enrollment. The Eligibility Clerk tracks enrollment activities, maintains student records, assists the Admissions Office in preparing for and conducting Information Sessions and outreach activities, and provides clerical support and general assistance with admissions activities.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: *This is a Civil Service position. The final candidate will be required to take and pass the Civil Service Exam.* The successful candidate must possess a high school or equivalency diploma and three (3) years of experience which involved the provision of services to individuals or clients in a human services setting**. Satisfactory completion of 30 credits may be substituted on a year for year basis for each year of the above stated experience.
**DEFINITION: Human services setting shall be defined as an organization in which human services are provided, generally to prevent as well as resolve problems and to assist individuals in functioning as effectively as possible; services include but are not limited to social, economic, psychological, and/or emotional support services that are provided to clients or individuals (services are generally related to public assistance, social services, mental health, substance abuse, aging, special needs, etc.). Human services experience involves direct contact with the client or individual.
All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and evidence of equity-minded practice in all college policies, practices, and personnel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: It is strongly preferred that the successful candidate possesses excellent customer service and communication skills, preferably with serving students in a higher education setting; experience working in a diverse setting, and strong technical skills. Bilingual (Spanish/French speaking in addition to English) is preferred.

SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary for this position is $50,787. Additional compensation with seniority steps maximize at a salary of $61,566. WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule is Monday - Friday (four days 9:00 - 5:00pm; one designated evening 12:00 - 8:00pm).
