The Associate Director of Student Engagement is a full-time position that reports to the AVP for Student Affairs. The Associate Director supervises two Assistant Directors and is responsible for the overall leadership and management of Student Engagement and programming for the co-curricular student experience. The areas of oversight include student activities, student government, orientation, Greek life, commuter central, student clubs and organizations. This position is part of the Student Affairs leadership team and serves on the leadership level of the crisis response team.
Specific Responsibilities:
Student Affairs Area:
Provide leadership and initiative across campus to integrate the co-curricular student experience with the academic student experience.
Serve in leadership duty rotation, acting as chief crisis response manager
Provide campus visibility during evenings and weekends
Supervise Assistant Director of Student Engagement and Commuter Central and Assistant Director of Student Engagement and Greek Life
Lead assessment for the Student Engagement area
Act as a case manager for students of concern
Serve as a conduct officer for student conduct cases, as needed
Student Programming:
Coordinate Orientation programs in collaboration with Residence Life and Academic Affairs
Oversee Senior week activities
Implement co-curricular programming across campus designed to enhance student life
Collaborate with Residence life to implement residence hall programming, including Interest and Identity housing programs.
Student Clubs and Organizations, Other Programs:
Oversee the management of over 60 clubs and organizations
Manage the Club Sports program
Student Governance:
Advise the Ursinus College Student Government Association (SGA)
Advise class councils and support programming
Advise Activity Fund Allocation Committee (AFAC) funding process
There is potential for this to be a live-on position depending on availability of college housing. Live on status is not required.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Student Development or Higher Education Administration or related field
Minimum of 4 years of professional experience working in Student Affairs
Knowledge of best practices in student activities, clubs, and/or student governance
Excellent supervisory, collaboration, and communication skills
Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and a desire to work in a high traffic, fast-paced environment.
