POSITION DETAILS
The Department of Speech/Language Pathology & Audiology (Hunter College/CUNY) seeks candidates for a full-time, Higher Education Officer (HEO) position who will serve as the Director of the Hunter College Center for Communication Disorders (HCCCD) available to begin January 1, 2025. The position's duties and responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of student clinical education, the clinic's administration such as schedules, services and finances, and supervision of clinical educators. The HCCCD director will be expected to actively participate as a department member in various administrative activities such as department faculty meetings and committee work.
This position reports to the Department Chair; responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
?? Serve as Clinic Director of the Hunter College Center for Communication Disorders (HCCCD)
?? Designs, implements and monitors curriculum for programs sponsored by the Center
?? Oversees the design and delivery of clinical courses and activities; assesses learning outcomes
?? Develops and manages Center's budget and operations
?? Implements ongoing faculty and/or student development activities
?? Plans, develops, and initiates strategies for generating resources and/or revenues for clinical education May seek and acquire grant funding to further advance HCCCD initiatives
?? Manages clinical educators and clerical staff
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and eight years' relevant experience required.
Other Qualifications:
(a) earned Master or Doctoral degree in speech language pathology/communication disorders;
(b) hold current New York State license in speech language pathology or audiology and maintain ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in speech language pathology or audiology;
(c) have a minimum of five years of experience in graduate clinical education in speech language pathology or audiology;
(d) have minimum of five years of college teaching experience; and
(e) demonstrate leadership, administration and involvement in committee work in the field of speech language pathology and audiology.
Strong preference will be given to a candidate with a terminal degree, namely, a Ph.D. or Ed.D.
