The Registered Nurse at the East Carolina University Student Health Service is charged with the provision of patient care to the students of ECU. This involves working in collaboration with other nurses, medical providers, lab and other support staff to provide quality care in a positive, professional and safe environment. The Registered Nurse will strive to meet the patient's needs including: emotional care, relief from discomfort, administration of hydration and medicinal therapy, and patient education. The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care through the use of the nursing process under the supervision of the Nurse Manager. The Registered Nurse will report to the Nurse Manager.
Nursing duties (90%): The Registered Nurse perform professional duties through assessment, planning, implementation of evaluation, education and counseling of patients in accordance with the North Carolina Nurse Practice Act, ANA College Health Nursing Practice Standards, SHS guidelines of Nursing Care, SHS Policies and Procedures, provider's orders, and instructions form the nurse manager and/or Director of Clinical Operations.
Accuracy in work (10%): Precision, exactness, and accuracy are critical in providing patient care and in communicating with staff. This is essential to ensure that proper care is rendered to patients during their visit at Student Health Service.
