Senior Student Services Specialist - Student Services Associate I - College of Arts & Sciences Office of Student Services & Admissions
The Arts & Sciences Student Services and Admissions Office is a large and dynamic unit dedicated to delivering excellent service to students, faculty, and staff. The office staff support a one-stop student services model for the college's 4,700 undergraduate students from time of admission to graduation. Our staff help guide each student on their path to success, however they define it, building a foundation for lifelong growth, opportunity, and discovery. Enrollment representatives within Cornell's colleges, schools, and units regularly collaborate and partner with the Enrollment Division to accomplish the University's enrollment goals.

The Senior Student Services Specialist provides critical administrative support to the Arts & Sciences (A&S) student services unit, a large and dynamic office dedicated to providing excellent service to students, faculty and staff. This position serves as the staff lead for degree audit and various commencement related activities, working closely with university and college systems to track degree requirements. They are also responsible for managing student records, focusing on graduating seniors. The Senior Student Services Specialist manages the transfer student credit evaluation process, working closely with the admissions team to provide credit evaluations to incoming A&S transfer students. They also serve as a resource and mentor to the Student Services Coordinator and assist with the training and development of the student services staff on student records related policies and procedures, specifically degree requirements and transfer credit policy.
The Senior Student Services Specialist reports to the Director of Administration, supports the Sr. Associate Dean and unit directors, collaborates with admissions, advising and registrar colleagues, serves as a resource to department undergraduate coordinators, and partners with university offices, including the Offices of the Bursar, Financial Aid, and the University Registrar (OUR). This position will have a dotted line reporting to the College Registrar.
Possibility of 1 day remote per week after a period of training and 6 months in the position.
Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree and up to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

- Proficient in or ability to quickly learn required software programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, FileMaker, etc.).
- Professional demeanor, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task are all required.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An understanding of how an academic institution operates.
- More than four years of Student Services experience to fully understand the major, college and university requirements.
- Experience with student systems, such as PeopleSoft, Salesforce or Slate.
