GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: This position supports the needs of the Student Services division. Under limited supervision, provides the Student Services division administrative support, manages department processes, and ensures smooth operation of the office. This includes but is not limited to: Dean of Students, accommodations, counseling, financial aid, admissions and student life. Provides factual information requiring knowledge of policies and procedures of Kirkwood; exercises a high degree of independent judgement and confidentiality.
The usual work schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide support to student services division staff such as compiling materials for outreach, maintaining department records, generating reports, scheduling appointments, and maintaining computer databases.
Answer and/or re-direct basic inquires from internal and external customers either via phone calls, email or in person.
Prepare and maintain correspondence, lists, and other documents.
Perform various office clerical duties including typing, scanning, maintaining copiers and other equipment, sorting/distributing mail, etc.
Point of contact for ordering supplies within the Dean of Students office and assisting with the department budget.
Assist with department activities and events.
Perform other related work duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree
Possess a good working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office products, with an emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of standard office equipment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience in an educational setting
