Position Information: The K-20 Alliances/SIP Advisor will oversee and coordinate motivational and informational programs designed to build community partnerships that promote increased college enrollment and graduate/professional school attendance, particularly among first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students. This role will focus on serving target schools within the Colton Joint Unified School District. Additionally, the K-20 Alliances/SIP Advisor will collaborate with UCR students involved in community-focused student organizations to deliver college access and outreach services.
The full salary range for the K-20 Alliances/SIP Advisor position is $47,300 - $78,500 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $50,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Minimum Requirements
Basic knowledge working with a diverse student population, and sensitivity to culture, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation and socio-economic status.
Basic knowledge and understanding of K-14 education.
Basic knowledge of higher education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, etc.), and the ability to explain procedures to youth, parents, and school representatives.
Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with school district administrators, school counselors, principals, teachers, and community contacts.
Basic knowledge of academic programs, including curricula and admissions requirements at higher education institutions.
Basic knowledge of high school graduation and college entrance requirements.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work Monday through Friday (7:00 am-4:00 pm) occasional evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy and tact.
Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, plan, and help coordinate educational programs that meet specific needs for program participants

Custom Scope Under close supervision of higher-level K-14 Academic Preparation Specialists, uses K-14 academic preparation professional concepts and practices by working with assigned sites to implement academic preparation programs.
Department Custom Scope Under the general supervision of the K-20 Alliances/SIP Director, the K-20 Alliances/SIP Advisor will be responsible for for organizing and administering motivational and informational programs aimed at fostering community partnerships to increase college enrollment and graduate/professional school attendance among first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students. The K-20 Alliances/SIP Advisor will implement grade-appropriate college-going workshops, curricula, materials, and activities and delivers individual and group advising services for K-14 students. The Advisor will also develop and maintain relationships with parents/families and school contacts to support student academic success and access to higher education. Additionally, the Advisor will work directly with UCR students involved in student organizations that engage with the community to provide college access and outreach services.
