(65%) Course and clinical rotation management for veterinary students Coordinate course and rotation logistics Create and manage course and rotation preparation and teaching schedules, and communicate schedules with faculty, students, guests and external partners Develop and update instructional materials Work with faculty and education partners to arrange field trips and other offsite learning opportunities Arrange transportation for offsite learning opportunities Work with CVM Academic and Student Affairs office to cross check student calendars, and manage classroom or lab space reservations Coordinate with teaching technician team on lab setup, acquisition of specimens, and management/ordering of teaching supplies and equipment Coordinate with Academic and Student Affairs office in the management of Canvas course sites (conversion, updates, trouble-shooting, assisting faculty with adding content, creating quizzes, assignments and evaluations)
Assist in grading and administering course/rotation/student evaluations. Compile and communicate evaluation results; make recommendations for program improvements
(25%) Student instruction Communicate with students regarding course and rotation expectations and logistical information Instruct students on proper lab equipment care and use, and other rotation- or course-specific tasks assigned to students Assist with supervision of students during labs, group work or field trips
(10%) Other duties as assigned (e.g assists in promotion and marketing of VPM education programs/outreach)
Required qualifications: BA/BS in a relevant field with at least 3 years of experience or a Master's degree with proven ability to perform the job responsibilities. Basic understanding of Word / Excel (text and numerical functions) and Google suites Good communication skills (faculty, students, college administrators, and external partners) with service mindset Well-organized, attention to detail, independent worker but able to take direction as needed, comfortable working both in-person and remotely Responsive to faculty member needs within the scope of work
Preferred qualifications: Experience working in a veterinary, education, or medical education field Experience with or interest in working with animals such as farm animals, and/or public health and One Health Experience in teaching/mentoring Basic understanding of Canvas and Qualtrics Experience with instructional design, virtual learning technologies, and development of multimedia instructional materials Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies
