What You'll Do:
Program Development & Management
Work closely with our dedicated team to design and launch innovative programs that meet the unique needs of first-generation college students.
Take the lead in planning and executing engaging workshops, events, and outreach activities that foster academic success, personal growth, and community involvement.
Evaluate program effectiveness through student feedback and data analysis, ensuring continuous improvement and impact.
Partner with university stakeholders to enhance the First Cyclones Scholarship program and First Scholars Pathways to Success program.
Student Outreach & Engagement
Craft and implement targeted communication strategies to connect with first-generation and low-income students, raising awareness about our invaluable programs and services.
Organize outreach activities, including engaging tabling events and interactive social media campaigns, to inspire participation in First Scholars initiatives.
Build and nurture relationships with student organizations, campus departments, and community partners to create a supportive network for our students.
Collaborate with New Student Programs to introduce prospective students to valuable resources during orientation.
Supervision
Mentor and train peer mentors and graduate assistants, providing them with the tools they need to excel in their roles.
Monitor team productivity and quality, offering constructive feedback and conducting performance evaluations to help team members achieve their goals.
Oversee daily operations, fostering a team culture of respect, collaboration, and open communication.
Data Analysis & Evaluation
Collect and analyze data on student performance and program participation, using insights to drive program enhancements and new initiatives.
Prepare insightful reports and presentations that guide strategic planning and showcase our program's impact.
Collaboration & Partnerships
Work with academic colleges, campus departments, and external stakeholders to identify partnership opportunities that benefit first-generation students.
Serve as a key liaison, coordinating efforts and sharing resources to effectively address student needs.
Represent First Scholars at meetings, conferences, and events, advocating for the needs and successes of our students.
Administrative Support
Provide essential administrative support to the Director of the First Scholars program, including scheduling, material preparation, and stakeholder communication.
Assist with budget management, grant writing, and fundraising efforts to sustain and grow our impactful programs.
Take on additional duties as needed to ensure smooth operation within the First Scholars program.

This position will be classified as a Student Services Specialist III. This individual will be reporting to the Executive Director of the First Scholars Office.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
