The college is comprised of the university's three accredited business schools, each of which is recognized as among the best in higher education: the Charles H. Our academic research; industry and community engagement; and undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs all reflect the future of business: flexible, collaborative, and cross-disciplinary. The college community includes 244 research faculty, 44,000 alumni, and nearly 3,300 undergraduate, professional, and graduate students. The SC Johnson College of Business has an unparalleled resource base from which to draw--within the college, Cornell Tech in New York City, and Cornell University broadly.
The Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management is a large and diverse school within the SC Johnson College of Business and is currently ranked number 7 in Poets & Quants rankings of undergraduate business programs. Dyson Director of Student Services Opportunity:
Cornell leaders are expected to foster a culture of belonging and a psychologically healthy work environment by being trustworthy; respecting all individuals; being flexible; supporting work/life balance as well as healthy boundaries; being open to new ideas, alternatives, and perspectives; speaking up and taking action if others are being excluded or treated inappropriately; and recognizing the contributions of others.
Reporting to the David J. Nolan Dean of the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management and secondarily to the SC Johnson College of Business Associate Dean for Student Services, the Director of Student Services is responsible for leadership and development of the Dyson students services team including the registrar and a staff of advisors and administrative support professionals. The Director oversees all undergraduate student support functions including new student communications and orientation, the Dyson transition course - Dyson by Design, academic review and advisement of Dyson undergraduates and supporting students of concern and responding to students in crisis in collaboration with campus colleagues. The Director also supervises the Graduate Coordinator of the Master of Professional Studies (MPS) program in Applied Economics and Management.
The Director leads collaboration and coordination of student programming in partnership with the Director of Undergraduate Studies and alongside other Dyson-based student-facing teams including career management and diversity & inclusion, as well as with the college admissions team and other college functions including alumni affairs & development, external relations, information technology, facilities and finance. The Director represents Dyson and is an active participant in university networks, working groups, and committees often convened by the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and teams such as New Student Programs and the Dean of Students office within Student and Campus Life.
Enrollment representatives within Cornell's colleges, schools, and units regularly collaborate and partner with the Enrollment Division to accomplish the University's enrollment goals.
It is critical that the Director establishes strong rapport with the students and is a leader in community-building efforts with the students.
