Position Summary:
The newly established Office of Academic Support for Undergraduate Students seeks a self-directed, customer-service oriented department coordinator to provide advanced administrative support and coordination to OASUS staff and programming in the management of the office and the soon-to-be-established testing center. This position manages the budget, plans and coordinates departmental events, manages program scheduling, coordinates day-to-day Testing Center operations and supervises student workers, and supports a collaborative work environment.

Workplace Requirements:
This position is offered as a seasonally hybrid role, combining both in-office and remote work to provide flexibility and support collaboration. During the fall and spring semesters when the OASUS Testing Center is open, the position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties to be performed in Fondren Library. During recesses and outside OASUS Testing Center hours of operation, this position will offer the opportunity for remote work. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.
Hiring Range: $23.41 - $25.43 per hour
*Non-Exempt (hourly) positions under FLSA are eligible for overtime.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate degree
- In lieu of the education requirement, additional related experience, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year for year basis may be substituted
- 3+ years related administrative experience in an office environment.

Essential Functions:
- Provide administrative support to the Director and Associate Director, including but not limited to managing calendars and resolving scheduling conflicts, and requesting and pulling data for reporting purposes.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate OASUS events.
- Coordinate management of OASUS budget: manage purchasing and process expenses; monitor expenditures against projected budget; create reports and identify discrepancies.
- Process hiring of student peer educators and other student workers; provide supervision of student workers.
- Manage scheduling for the Drop-in Study Center, PAL Study Group sessions, and student workers and update website accordingly.
- Coordinate and monitor day-to-day operations of the OASUS Testing Center.
- Become familiar with testing center management software (AIM), and research and prepare user instructions for different audiences.
- Contribute to planning department outreach and promotion, compose related communication and marketing materials.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
