The Coordinator of Student Support Resources assists students in times of need by providing personalized support and assistance that allows students to achieve their full potential as students and campus citizens. This non-clinical position engages with some of the university's most complicated students of concern to create and implement strategies to optimally navigate a wide range of life events that have the potential to affect the pursuit of their educational goals, often by connecting them with specialized resources at the university or in the broader community. The Coordinator will respond to students who either self-present, or who are referred or identified by a community member, and will cultivate a meaningful and supportive relationship with the student during the period of case management, which could be short- or long-term depending on the nature of the concerns. This position will serve as a lead advocate in using a network of key partners on behalf of a student, including medical or mental health resources, academic advisors, faculty, disability resources specialists, financial assistance providers, student organization advisors, and/or family members, among others. While doing so, the Coordinator will employ a highly student-centered approach through advising strategies that preserve and enhance students' sense of agency in relation to decision-making and problem-solving. The Coordinator's caseload will consist primarily of undergraduate and graduate students living off-campus, mirroring similar support functions that the university's housefellows offer to residential students.

Core responsibilities will include:

• Providing walk-in and by-appointment support and assistance for students

• Consultation and advising services for faculty, staff, and others regarding case-specific student issues

• Coordinating case management for acute students-of-concern, including collaboration with a variety of campus partners, including Counseling and Psychological Services and University Health Services clinicians and case managers where appropriate

• Responding to emergency or crisis situations in collaboration with community health and safety resources, including University Police. Weekend and evening hours periodically required for crisis response work

• Maintaining relationships with select students on leave of absence toward engendering a return from leave that is well-supported

• Maintaining up-to-date documentation of services, including reports and assessment of divisional work with students

• Intake and triage reports about students of concern that are submitted to the Office of the Dean of Students

• Coordinating education and outreach in support of the department's work

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in higher education or student affairs administration, social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field required, but we encourage applications from hardworking individuals with relevant professional backgrounds

• 1-3 years human services experience required

• Experience working with college and university students, and an understanding of the common developmental issues associated with that population (particularly at a high select university), is preferred

• A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
