Operations Manager will provide specialized support for graduate assistantships and fellowships. Responsibilities will include compliance with UNL, the Graduate College, and Board of Regents policies related to assistantships and fellowship appointments, ensuring that minimum requirements related to stipends, health insurance, tuition benefits and fees are met. Operations Manager will liaison to departments, accounting and payroll on issues/questions related to assistantships/traineeships.
Operations Manager provides executive support to the Office of Graduate Studies and directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean for Graduate Studies. Operations Manager has a wide latitude for exercising sound judgment in the implementation of daily operations, including oversight, coordination and forecasting of business, financial and HR functions, acting as Graduate Studies liaison to the Big Red Business Center who will carry out to the financial and HR requests. Operations Manager will support the development of policies and procedures and implementation of best business practices that directly impact Office of Graduate Studies. Position will supervise one (1) office staff, complete special projects as assigned by the Dean and assist the Dean in program development and long-term strategic planning.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and four (4) year's professional experience in higher education and student services; equivalent education/experience considered.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, especially with university faculty and staff members.
Strong customer service focus.
Demonstrate sound judgment and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
Possess an understanding of business processes and have strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize.
Must be proficient in relevant software programs, including MS Word and Excel.
Must possess a strong service centered philosophy and the ability to work effectively as a team member.
Well-developed administrative skills.
General knowledge of accounting principles and practices, business processes, policies and procedures, and internal controls.
Excellent analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail while still seeing the big picture.
Willingness to embrace new ideas and the ability to effectively implement change.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree and experience in a graduate services environment (student accounts, financial aid, etc.).
Prior experience with PeopleSoft. Prior accounting experience, knowledge of SAP, reporting, presentation and budgeting.
Working knowledge of student information software (SIS+, PeopleSoft).
