ARC collaborateswithAdmissions, Financial Aid,International Student Services, Registrar, VeteransServices, Counseling and Advisement offices in order to achieve optimalenrollmentthroughprogressiverecruitmentandretention efforts, which supportthe missionofHostos,andenhance studentlearningand success.
The Student Disability Services Manager will report directly to the Associate Dean of SDEM. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Manages the day-to-day operations of the Student Disability Services Office.
Conducts ongoing program and service assessment and evaluation to identify and eliminate potential and real accessibility barriers.
In coordination with the Associate Dean of SDEM, manages budget and staff.
Monitors and ensures compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disability ACT (ADA) as related to student issues; maintains case files/confidential student records as required by FERPA and College protocol.
Conducts outreach to High Schools in the Bronx, hosting informational sessions and scheduling campus tours.
Works with community-based organizations and non-profits who provide vocational services to individuals with disabilities promoting Hostos as a viable option.
Works closely with Central Office, community-based organizations, and local educational agencies to improve employment opportunities for students with disabilities.
Develops videos and opportunities to showcase the Accessibility Resource Center and the success of the students that have been a part of the Center.
Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.
The following qualifications are preferred:
Master's Degree in related field
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
Experience working in Higher Education setting
Availability to work evening and weekend hours when required

Develops programs to ensure inclusiveness as well as compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies
Prepares reports and develops other communications including publications, workshops, and web site materials
