The Residence Life and Housing team is committed to developing a caring, vibrant, student-centered residential experience for over 5,000 students living in on-campus residence halls and apartments.
Reporting to the Assistant Director for CARE and Community Standards (ADCS), the Coordinator for Community Standards(CCS) helps to cultivate an inclusive environment that is open, welcoming, and supportive of individuals of all identities and backgrounds; promotes student learning and success; and fosters understanding and accountability for residential community standards. This position is live-off and requires the ability to work occasional nights or weekends.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills; experience working with Student Conduct Offices and hearings, and the ability to collaborate with campus partners to support student success and inclusion, equity, and diversity.
Responsibilities include:
Serve as a University Hearing Officer for informal conduct meetings, formal university board hearings, and group misconduct cases under direction from the Office of Student Conduct
Document CARE related concerns including referrals
Prepare and distribute appropriate adjudication correspondence using protocols established jointly by RLH and the Office of Student Conduct
Maintain understanding of current Title IX, Title IV, Title II, Clery Act, Campus SaVE, and FERPA, and other legislation
Provide focused attention on communication and education regarding student rights and responsibilities for living in a residential community
Provide leadership during times of crisis in and adjacent to the residential community
Provide support and intervention necessary to mediate, manage and resolve crisis incidents and conflicts
Plan and implement proactive education, outreach, and interventions regarding health, safety, and wellbeing
Collaborate with campus partners including Health Services, Public Safety, Office of Student Conduct, Counseling Center, and Wellness Promotion to implement education, programs, and services
Collaborate with Area Coordinators for specialized outreach to various populations including first year students, first generation students, returning students
Collaborate with department staff to organize training and in-service sessions including participation in recruitment, selection, and training for department student leaders for fall, spring, and summer trainings
Provide support for residential openings and closings including check-in, check-out policies and processes during fall, spring breaks, and summer
Helps to maintain staff manuals, protocols, and other documents supporting housing and residence life operations, programs, and services
Lead or support department-wide committees and advise resident student organizations
Serve as a role model for all hall staff and residents in personal and professional behaviors
Participate on Division-wide committees and on division-wide programs and events
Practice ethical stewardship of university resources

Bachelor?s Degree
Two years of experience in Residence Life and Housing or a related field working with students in education or supporting college age students. (Graduate Experience is acceptable)
Availability to work occasional nights or weekends
Master's Degree preferred in Higher Education or related field
Experience as a hearing officer or working within a Student Conduct Office
Experience working in case management software such as Maxient
