The Do Great Things! Durham Technical Community College is hiring a Coordinator for Northern Durham Center Student Support. The Coordinator (NDC Student Supports) is located at the College?s Northern Durham Center in northern Durham County and provides services, supports, and resources to students. The Coordinator works collaboratively with the faculty and staff of Durham Tech and assigned high schools to promote and deliver a seamless educational transition process for high school and nontraditional students. The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing student engagement, promoting success strategies designed to increase high school and nontraditional graduate enrollment and success, and managing the referral process for conduct cases, and at Durham Tech?s Northern Durham Center. Additionally, the Coordinator manages essential record-keeping tasks and ensure compliance, actively participate in Durham Tech committees, engage in high school recruitment events, and provide ongoing support and retention initiatives to bolster student success and persistence.
Welcome and engage a diverse population of students, staff, visitors, and other stakeholders to assist in supporting students, promoting and making referrals to available resources, and marketing opportunities at the Northern Durham Center;
Partner with High School Partnerships and Career Development Counselors to ensure students are informed of opportunities available at Durham Tech, inclusive of Career and College Promise;
Guide prospective students through the recruitment and enrollment process (college application, identifying program of study, Residency Determination System, Financial Aid referrals, and RISE placement offerings, ConnectSessions, Advising, and Registration);
Maintain quality partnerships with secondary school personnel in collaboration with the Director, College Recruitment and High School Partnerships;
Collaborate with the Dean of Student Services and Director, High School Partnerships regarding student conduct and compliance concerns;
Engage with college employees and promote campus and socializing events to our dual-enrolled students that enhance the student experience and promote the sense of belonging;
Collaborate with the Coordinator, Student Engagement to promote and support student activities and leadership opportunities for the Northern Durham Center campus.
Provide clerical and database management services to support the activities of the Northern Durham Center;
Adhere to FERPA regulations and policies when communicating with students, high school personnel, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders.
Participate in team meetings and professional development activities, as directed by the Dean/Director;
Must complete mandatory training.
Other duties as assigned by the Dean/Director; Vice President (AGCP or Student Services); and President of the college.
Bachelor's Degree ( or higher), preferably in fields related to education.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of direct experience working with high school and/or first-year college students
