The Assistant Director of Admission Strategy and Communications supports the Admission Office’s ongoing marketing and communication efforts with a specific focus on digital media. In addition, this position will also provide support to the larger team of admission counselors to recruit high caliber students. The Assistant Director will be a problem solver and collaborator in providing proactive and creative solutions to enrollment opportunities and challenges.
Position Responsibility
Support the Office of Admission in its marketing and communication efforts, actively collaborate with the Director of Strategy and Communications, campus partners, and current students.
Develop and create digital content for the Office of Admission social media platforms while tracking analytics of the campaigns; work closely with current student assistants in the development and execution of this content.
Produce compelling, strategically-driven digital content to enhance digital storytelling efforts.
Communicate the benefits of a Wellesley College education virtually and through on- and off-campus events (presentations at schools and community-based organizations, school counselor events, student-family events, online webinars, etc.).
Assist the Director of Admission Strategy and Communications in the editing and updating of all admission website content.
Independently manage portfolio projects as assigned, which includes, but not be limited to on-campus programming, virtual events management, support student assistant supervision, and outreach to build relationships with campus partners.
Manage a small recruitment territory and participate in team reading and committee review of application files. Will also build and strengthen relationships with key educational stakeholders in their territory.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
1-3 or more years of experience in admission, communication and/or marketing in higher education or related industry.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to articulate the benefits of a liberal arts education for women.
Knowledge of college admission and financial aid process or related expertise.
Expertise in video and image editing; Some experience in graphic design preferred.
Understanding and sensitivity to a diverse and multicultural range of viewpoints and experiences.
Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work towards big-picture by coordinating and following through with small details independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver’s license required. Ability to travel a minimum of 2-4 weeks per year.
